Little wars (2010) (9:55 min) HD video

“Little wars” (2010) is a semi-fictional film of a 2-day war game event with 250 participants at Copehill Down, a UK military training facility normally used by the Ministry of Defense for training purposes. The Village was built in the 90's to resemble a German village in Bavaria, to provide troops with a simulated backdrop when training for operations in European theatres including the Cold War, the Balkans and Northern Ireland. As elements of the war are "re-enacted" by the partipcants of the game, the film creates a poignant social commentary using amalgamation of narrative and fiction as well as employing early dissociation techniques explored by film makers such as Jean Rouch.
